Why Board Games ?
Board games are experiencing unprecedented enthusiasm. Their popularity continues to grow worldwide, across all generations. In fact, the global board game market is expected to reach nearly $40 billion by 2030! And each year, thousands of new games are released.
In short, board games have become a major social and economic phenomenon on a global scale. But who is playing what? Where?
- In France, in 2023, nearly 90,000 board game boxes were sold each day, making it one of the leading European countries in the sector. Indeed, 91% of the French people play board games regularly.
- In Belgium, the board game sector is experiencing significant growth. According to industry specialists, sales are expected to increase by 5 to 10% in the coming years, while the market already represented 12 billion euros in 2023.
- It is therefore not surprising to see a Canadian concept, the board game café, taking the world by storm. The idea? To share a moment of enjoyment outside the home, over a drink.
